The eighth edition of the International Spice Conference (ISC 2025) was a resounding success, reinforcing its position as the premier platform for the global spice industry. Held from February 24 to 27, 2025 at The Leela Bhartiya City, Bengaluru, this year’s theme, "Building Trust: Beyond Borders," focused on fostering sustainability, transparency, and confidence within the spice industry.

ISC 2025 saw an all-time high in delegate registrations compared to previous years, bringing together the brightest minds, industry leaders, and innovators from around the world. Over four days, the conference featured thought-provoking discussions, insightful keynotes, and industry-shaping debates, creating unmatched networking opportunities and valuable knowledge-sharing. The event kicked off with "Myth vs. Reality in the Global Spice Trade," focusing on the harmonization of testing labs and global standards—a critical step toward improving consistency and trust in the spice trade. The opening session featured an inspiring keynote by Dr. Krishna Ella on how innovation and resilience have positioned India as a global leader. Olympian Abhinav Bindra highlighted the importance of precision and perseverance in achieving long-term success.

A standout session by Google’s Tanveer Uberoi explored how AI is transforming market insights and productivity, showcasing the shift toward a more digital, data-driven spice industry. A thought-provoking session by Kiruba Shankar highlighted how social media can be a double-edged sword for businesses, offering both opportunities for growth and challenges in managing brand reputation. In an insightful session, Shrivatsa Somany explained practical ways businesses can leverage AI to streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and drive growth.

Discussions on regenerative agriculture and climate resilience took centre stage. Bhavik Desai’s session on regenerative farming and Sonam Wangchuk’s keynote on climate action emphasized the need for immediate and responsible action in the spice industry. One of the most anticipated sessions, the market reports provided deep insights into demand and supply trends for key spices like black pepper, turmeric, cumin, chilies, and dehydrates—helping stakeholders navigate the future with clarity.
